Not every wish calls for a new board. If there is room left, we add a circuit for the washing machine, the bathroom or the driveway, with the residual current protection that belongs with it.
If the board already has breakers and residual current protection and there are free modules, adding is the cheapest solution. That saves considerably against a complete new board. A photo of the open board tells us straight away whether it is possible.
Usually a washing machine or dryer overloading the existing circuit, the bathroom, an outdoor circuit to the garden or shed, or a workspace in the loft. A dedicated circuit for the boiler is common too.
The new breaker goes behind an RCD with enough headroom, not behind the one already carrying the most. We run the cable to the outlet, test the circuit and label it in the board.
If the board is full, has no residual current protection, or the existing wiring is due for replacement, adding is papering over a crack. We say so honestly and price up a replacement.

It depends on the distance to the outlet and whether chasing is needed. You get a fixed price in advance, not an hourly bill.
