Home battery installation: how we work

What a home battery does

During the day your panels generate more than you use. Without a battery that surplus goes to the grid; with one you store it and use it in the evening. How much that saves depends on your consumption pattern and on the tariffs you pay.

We work out your case first

A battery is an investment, and it does not pay back in every situation. We look at your annual consumption, what your panels produce and when you use power. If the sums do not work, we say so.

The installation itself

The battery goes on its own circuit with its own protection, somewhere the temperature is stable and there is room around it. We connect it to the inverter and the fuse box, and file the notification where one is required.

Set up around your habits

After connecting we set when the battery charges and discharges. If you combine it with a charging point or a heat pump, we tune the systems so they do not work against each other.

Send us your situation with a few photos and you will have a clear quote with a fixed price within 24 hours.

Sigenergy

SigenStor home battery

The Sigenergy SigenStor is a modular five-in-one energy system: inverter, battery, power conversion, energy management and optional EV charging in one stackable unit. Press plus and you will see a module appear on top.

  • Modular from 9 to 54 kWh — you can still extend it later
  • LiFePO4 cells, IP66 and a working range of −20 to 55 °C
  • 10-year manufacturer warranty with at least 70% capacity after 10 years
  • Optional backup power during an outage and EV charging through the SigenStor

Configure your system

Supply
Look in your meter cupboard: with three phase you will see three fuses side by side for the main supply, with single phase only one. If you are not sure, pick what you think it is — we check it on the photos you send with your request.
Capacity
The SigenStor is built from stackable modules of 9.04 kWh; there is also a smaller 6.02 kWh module with the same dimensions. You can stack one to six of them. Choose roughly what you use in the evening and at night, but no more than your panels have to spare on a day.

Backup power during an outage
With a backup supply a few circuits keep running off the battery during a power cut, the fridge and the lighting for instance. That needs extra switchgear in the meter cupboard, and so a little more installation work.
Charging your car from the battery
The SigenStor can drive a DC charger, so the car charges straight from the battery or the panels without converting twice. If you already have an ordinary charging point, that works alongside it perfectly well.

Your configuration is carried over to the quote form. There you fill in your details and can attach photos of the meter cupboard.

Manufacturer specifications, checked in August 2026. The recommended inverter rating is a guideline; what suits your situation depends on your supply and the number of panels. We confirm that in the quote.

Frequently asked questions about home battery installation

Question not answered here? Call or message us and we will think it through with you, free of charge.

Do I need solar panels?

For the best return, yes. Without panels a battery can still make sense on a dynamic energy contract, but the calculation is different.

Will my house still work in a power cut?

Only if the system is set up for it and you say so in advance. Not every battery can supply backup power; we will tell you which models do.

How much space is needed?

Reckon on about a metre of wall, in a room that does not freeze or get too hot. A garage, utility room or plant room is usually suitable.

Does my fuse box need changing?

Often a circuit is added. If the board is full we first discuss whether extending or replacing is wiser.
