Perilex socket installation

A perilex is the five-pin connection used for an electric range or a heavy oven. We run the circuit, fit the socket and check whether your fuse box can carry the load.

Perilex socket installation: how we work

What a perilex actually is

A perilex connection has five pins: three phases, neutral and earth. That lets an appliance spread its load across three phases instead of pulling everything through one wire. Electric ranges and heavy ovens ask for it as standard.

Do you need one?

Check the rating plate on the appliance. If it says 400V, or a rating above roughly 3.7 kW, you need a perilex or a dedicated power circuit. An ordinary socket cannot carry that and will overheat.

What we do

We run a new circuit from the fuse box, pull the cable to where the appliance stands and fit the perilex socket. If there is no room left in the box, we first discuss whether extending or replacing it is the smarter move.

Measure first, order later

If your home has a single-phase supply, a perilex is not straightforward. We calculate your load and say honestly whether an upgrade is needed. So you know before you order the cooker.

Send us your situation with a few photos and you will have a clear quote with a fixed price within 24 hours.

Frequently asked questions about perilex socket installation

Question not answered here? Call or message us and we will think it through with you, free of charge.

Can a perilex work on a single-phase supply?

Not as a three-phase connection. Sometimes the appliance can run on one phase with adapted wiring, but far from always. We look at the rating plate and tell you what is possible.

May I fit a perilex plug myself?

Legally you may; sensible it rarely is. Connect a phase wrongly and the appliance is damaged or you create a fire risk. We measure afterwards to confirm the phases are right.

How long does it take?

If the appliance stands near the fuse box, usually half a day. If the cable has to cross several rooms, a full day.

What if my fuse box is full?

Then we add a circuit if there is room, or replace the board. A photo of the open fuse box tells us which it will be.
