Charging in a shared garage in Rotterdam takes more than hanging one unit on the wall. The power comes from the building’s own installation, so the question is who pays for what and what that installation can carry. We are about 50 minutes away from our base in Haarlem. Every charge point gets its own certified meter, so a resident’s consumption does not land on the association’s bill. You choose whether that runs through the service charges or through a platform that bills the resident directly.
An enclosed car park brings stricter requirements for cabling and for where the distribution board sits. We take that into account and record what has been installed, so the association can show it at an inspection.
If your unit stands idle most of the day and can be reached from the street, you can make it available to other drivers and receive a fee per kWh delivered. That does need a certified meter and OCPP support.
The route from meter cupboard to car decides a large part of the price. Does it run through a crawl space, along a skirting board, or under the garden? We walk that route with you beforehand, so the quote matches what happens on the day.
Charging runs for hours at full power. That does not belong on a shared circuit but on its own, with the right type of residual current device. We run it from the meter cupboard and label it, so it is clear later what sits where.
